Muslim group rejects NYSC, military camping during Ramadan

NYSC to post Corps members to farms

North apex Muslim body, Jamat’ul Nasir Islam, has faulted the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for opening the orientation camps to fresh graduates during the ongoing Ramadan.

The organization also called on the army to shift its planned recruitment exercise scheduled to hold between May and June.

The organization, in a statement issued after the meeting of its annual central committee in Kaduna, said the NYSC orientation programme and the proposed army recruitment will place Muslim youth corps members at a disadvantage.

It called for the postponement of the two programmes till the end of the Ramadan for effective participation by Muslims.
