INEC worried over voters’ multiple registration in Ogun State

INEC resumes voters registration, distribution of uncollected PVC in April

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed concern over the cases of multiple registrations for Permanent Voters Card (PVC), in the on-going continuous voters registration exercise in Ogun State.

The electoral body described the situation as worrisome, considering the increasing number of eligible voters turning out at the various registration centers in the state.

Ogun State Spokesperson of the Commission, Mrs. Adenike Tadese, raises the concern, while featuring on ‘INEC half hour’, a live program on Rockcityfm.

She said, 3,514 names have been delisted from INEC voters register for double registration during the 2017 exercise.

According to her, only 121,289 registered voters’ names are now on the voter register in the state, out of 124,803 persons who registered during the 2017 registration exercise.
