Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted that Nigerian youths with their huge population will likely determine who wins the 2019 polls.
The agency said most of the new voters registered in the ongoing voter registration, are youths, while the analysis of the 2015 polls also indicates that most of the voters were youths.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakub, who made this known in Kano, at the INEC youth vote count campus outreach, said the youths will be the game changer in the polls.
Yakubu also said with the expected registration of 85 political parties for the 2019 polls, he envisaged that about 46,000 candidates are expected to contest in the polls.
He also put the number of registered voters, ahead of the august 17 deadline for the continuous voter registration is 81 million.
