Implementation Of IPP Power Plant Project Takes Off In Abeokuta

The implementation of an Independent Power Plant (IPP) by Nanovo Energy at Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, has begun.
The preliminary work on site of the project, being undertaken by Nanovo Energy at Obada Oko, will begin before May.
Clearing of land allocated by the State Government for the project has begun.
A top official of the company, Azuka Ebina, who made this known to Rockcity FM in Abeokuta says fund for the construction of the power plant will reach a reasonable level by next month.
He says that the company is liaising with the State Government to meet the various requirements of the Federal Ministry of Environment and the National Executive Council.
Ogun State Government, January 2018, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with eight selected IPP to generate 286 megawatt of electricity.
The projects christened ‘light up’ is worth $476.6 million.
