The impeached kogi State’s deputy governor, Elder Simon Achuba, has called for the intervention of president Muhammadu Buhari in his face off with Governor Yahaya Bello and the state house of assembly.
Achuba addressing a news conference in Lokoja, says Buhari’s intervention will save APC and Kogi State from the looming breakdown of law and order
A team of lawyers, according to him, had been instructed to initiate a legal against his last friday impeachment which he regards as unconstitutional and illegal
Meanwhile, a panel set up to investigate the deputy governor by the state house of assembly, has said its report did not indict him
The panel’s chairman, Justice John Baiyyelsha, says that all the allegations the assembly levelled against the impeached deputy governor were not proven
He says it is illegal for the assembly to have gone ahead and impeach the deputy governor, when the report which his panel submitted to the lawmakers did not found him guilty.
