After a failed move to Birmingham City due to inability of the club to secure a work permit, Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has confirmed that he has maintained contact with City coach Harry Redknapp.
The former Lazio midfielder was set to join the championship club during the summer transfer window but the home office in England refused to grant him the necessary work permit.
Onazi spoke to Turkish based newspaper Fantik on Thursday saying: “I am still in talks with Harry,” Onazi revealed.
“Every disappointment is a blessing. I’m not disappointed.
“I’m still strong, working hard, because I know there are better chances ahead.
“Somehow you can call it disappointment because there was an opportunity for me to go to England to start another life, another football entirely, but nevertheless there is never a dull moment.”
The midfield battler still has three years on his Trabzonspor contract but it remains to be seen if the player will move during the winter transfer.
