HERDSMEN ATTACKS: Monarch Calls for Security-Hunters Synergy

A traditional ruler in Ekiti state, Oba Bamidele Adesogun, the Onirele of Irele Ekiti, has called for a synergy between security agencies and traditional hunters, to stop attacks by herdsmen on villages in the state.

Armed herdsmen had invaded Oke Ako Ekiti, near Ikole Ekiti last week, killing two persons and injuring others, compelling Governor Ayodele Fayose to ban cattle grazing in the state.

The traditional ruler addressing newsmen on behalf of traditional institutions in the state, said since the police were reluctant to track the killer herdsmen in the forest, a working arrangement is needed between hunters and security agencies, to meet the challenge.
