Health workers are warming up for a fresh nationwide strike, after suspending a seven day warning strike which ended on Tuesday.
Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) says the fresh strike will be called if the Presidency fails to implement the agreement they signed last May 10.
President of Nigeria Unions of Allied Healthcare Professionals, Doctor Ogbonna Chimola, who spoke on behalf of JOHESU, said issues in the agreement dated back to 2009.
The demands, according to him, include releasing circular for the implementation of adjusted salary of health professionals as in the case of medical doctors since January 2014.
Others are the abolition of the post of Deputy Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee and the release of a circular for Medical Laboratory Science interns to include the post-NYSC placement on salary grade level 09.
