HDP Asks Tribunal To Stop Buhari’s Swearing In Ceremony

Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has asked the Presidential Poll Petitions Tribunal to stop the swearing in of President Buhari on May 29, for a second term in office.

HDP, which is one of the four opposition candidates challenging the declaration of Buhari of APC as the Poll’s winner, also wants the Tribunal to restrain the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria from performing the swearing ceremony.

The Party and its Presidential Candidate, Ambrose Owuru, asks the Tribunal to withhold the inauguration of Buhari until the determination of their petition.

The Tribunal has adjourned till May 22, to allow Buhari and Independent National Electoral Commission to respond to the petition.
