Gunmen Abduct Worshippers From Church Night Vigil, Near Abeokuta

Police are searching for three worshippers who were abducted from a church service at Obada Oko, near Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, on Sunday morning

They were abducted by armed kidnappers during the night vigil at the Ona Ara parish of the Cherubim and Seraphim church, located along the railway line in the area

The raid on the church service by the gunmen, caused pandemonium as worshippers fled in different directions

Spokesman of the state police command, Deputy Superintendent Abimbola Oyeyemi said that anti-kidnap unit had been deployed to track the abducted worshippers and free them

Oyeyemi, however, recalled warning by the police command against churches in isolated locations from holding night vigils.
