Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, has expressed concern over what he regards as the deteriorating conditions as the 2019 polls approaches.
He asked Nigerians to continually demand that governments be seriously alive to their primary responsibilities of protection of lives and properties.
Gowon speaking at a special prayer session at the National Headquarters of Deeper Life Bible Church in Lagos, said he is worried that the economic hardships are making poor poorer.
The Nigeria’s wartime leader, also expresses concern over the reduction in the quality of life of even the rich, and those he describes as political influentials.
He wants the people of faith to be encouraged to win over those who are unnecessarily angry and violent people with the force of love.
Gowon also asked Christians not to resort to any form of retaliation that will lead to a religious war, despite killings by boko haram, armed herdsmen or cattle rustlers.
