Governor Wike accuses godfathers of creating political tension

Governor Nyesom Wike of rivers state said godfatherism is now becoming a major political crisis destabilizing the country.

Wike, speaking on the development in an interview with newsmen at the government house in Port Harcourt, accused Former Governors and outgoing governors of attempting to impose new governors in their respective states.

According to the governor, both former and outgoing governors are spending a lot of resources in the struggles to impose new governors in 2019 polls.

Wike explained that the struggles to impose a governor in rivers state in 2015 was the cause of conflicts between him and the state’s immediate Past Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
