Governor Geidam indicts colleagues owing salaries, pensions, gratuity

Ibrahim Geidam

Governor Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State has indicted his colleagues who are owing civil servants on the payroll of their government, salaries, pensions and gratuity.

The governor said there is no basis for any state governor to owe either serving civil servants or those who have retired.

Geidam spoke on the issue while inaugurating the new national headquarters of the National Union of Pensioners, in Abuja.

He advised state governors to place a first line charge on the salaries, pensions and gratuities, before any other expenditure, to ensure their prompt payment.
