Governor Bello injured after missteps from vehicle in Lokoja

Kogi retires 8 perm secs, sacks 1,774 civil servants

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has sustained a serious injury while trying to step down from his official car in Lokoja.

In the process, the governor missed his step, fell and was critically injured in his leg and arms.

The car dragged the governor for some metres before the driver was aware of the incident and had to stop the vehicle.

The incident occurred while the governor was returning from the meeting of APC national caucus and national executive council in Abuja, last Friday, and decided to stop over at a major market in the town.

Media adviser to the governor, Kingsley Fanwo, in a statement confirmed that the governor injured his left leg as he missed his footing while alighting from his car.

He denied report that the governor had been flown abroad for treatment.

The media aide, however, said the governor had been discharged after being treated by doctors who bandaged his leg.
