Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has faulted president Buhari for his consistent attacks on him, former president Goodluck Jonathan and late president Umaru Yar’adua for allegedly mismanaging the economy.
He asked Buhari to stop dwelling in the past, and solve the problems he inherited from his predecessors.
Obasanjo speaking in Lagos at the first Akintola Williams annual lecture, says Buhari was elected to change the country, and must move it forward with a comprehensive economic policy and programme that are intellectually, strategically and philosophically based.
According to Obasanjo, it is easier to win elections than to right the wrong of the badly fouled situation, adding that when one is outside the government, what he sees and knows are nothing compared with reality.
Once in power, Obasanjo explains that what is expected of the new leaders is to clear the mess, and put the nation back on the path of rectitude, development and progress.
In doing this, Obasanjo says the new leaders must not leave any group or section out of their programmes and policies.
