Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said it will soon begin to demand the National Identification Number from applicants for the driver licence in the country.
The Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, made this known while receiving the Director General of National Identity Management Commission, Aliyu Aziz in his office in Abuja.
Oyeyemi said the identity number, which will be demanded at the point of registration by applicants, will be included in the data capturing process for the issuance of the driver licence.
Earlier, Aziz has asked FRSC to make the national identity number mandatory for all applicants seeking to obtain driver licence at the point of registration.
This, according to him, will stop the duplication of responsibilities and enhance the security, especially in information sharing.
