FRSC arrests more than 500 traffic offenders during Easter in Ogun

More than 500 motorists were arrested in Ogun State for various traffic offences during the Easter period.

Also, eight auto crashes were recorded during the period. 30 persons were rescued in the accident.

The sector commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Clement Oladele, who made this known, said they were arrested for failure to install speed limit device in commercial vehicles, bad tyres and seat belt violation.

Meanwhile, the Corps said 79 people were killed in auto crashes during the Easter period nationwide.

The Corps public education officer, Bisi Kazeem, who made this known, said 1,150 people were involved in the auto crashes, higher than 963 in the corresponding period in 2017.

In the crashes, Kazeem said that one thousand and 71 people were rescued in 160 accidents, including 38 fatal, 94 serious and 25 minor.

5,836 offenders, according to FRSC spokesman were arrested during the period.
