FRSC arrests 100 offenders daily over speed limit device – Ogun

FRSC officers on duty

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said it is arresting an average of 100 commercial drivers every day in Ogun state, for not installing speed limiting device in their vehicles.

The state corps sector commander, Clement Oladele who made this known in an interview in Lagos said the arrest began since the enforcement of the device began on February 1.

“For Ogun State, we do an average 100 everyday, so if you calculate from February 1 when we started it, you can know how many people have been involved,” he said.

Those arrested, according to FRSC sector commander are either fined or charged to court.

In the alternative, Oladele said those arrested may be asked to fix the device in their impounded vehicles before they will be released.

The FRSC commander asked commercial vehicle drivers in the state to purchase the device from only certified dealers displayed on the corps’website.
