A former first lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan is demanding the payment of $200 million by the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) as damage for freezing her $15 million in bank accounts.
Patience’s demand was contained in her application before a federal high court seeking an order to de-freeze the $15 million, and prevent EFCC from holding on to the fund which she claimed came from gifts and Personal Savings.
Scores of women were at the court chanting solidarity slogan in her support.
Justice Babs Kuewumi, fixed December 7 for hearing her application.
EFCC frozen the fund in bank accounts last month to facilitate its ongoing investigation of money laundering allegation.
