Fresh crisis brews in Osun Schools

A fresh crisis is looming in Osun State as Christian community protests against a court ruling allowing female Muslim students in the state public primary and secondary schools to wear hijab to schools.

Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state, Reverend Elisha Ogundiya, urged the State Government to ignore the ruling.

Can said if the State Government implement the ruling, it would direct Christian female students in the state public primary and secondary schools to also wear church garment and vestment to classrooms.

It accused Justice Jide Falola who gave the ruling of shutting out Christian community from the application filed by the Muslim community to enforce the constitutional rights of female Muslims students to wear hijab to public schools.
