Ogun state and four other states will from this week begin the free feeding of primary school pupils being implemented by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration under its social investments programme.
The other five states are Oyo, Enugu, Ebonyi and Osun.
Anambra and Kaduna states are already implementing the feeding programme for primary one to three pupils in the first phase of the programme.
Spokesman of the Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande, explained that under the programme will be fed once daily.
An estimated 5.5 million pupils are to be fed for 200 school days this year, and N93.17 billion was provided in the 2016 budget for the programme.
