Bomber, Seven Others Killed in Maiduguri Explosion

Five persons, including four female suicide bombers, have been killed in a bomb attack at a village near Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Eight other persons suffered various degree of injuries in the explosion in the early hours of Wednesday at Usmanti village, near Muna garage in the city.

The state police commissioner, Darmian Chukwu said four teenage female bombers were intercepted by the villagers, who attempted to prevent them from carrying out their mission.

The police chief, however, explained that three of the suicide bombers detonated the improvised explosive vest strapped around their bodies, leaving all the suicide bombers and a villager dead.
