Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta says it has acquired a digital Mammograph machine, it regarded the first by a Tertiary Health Institution in Nigeria
The equipment provides easy analysis of images, as well as detecting changes in breast tissues up to two years before it is palpable
The hospital’s medical director, professor Adewale Musa-Olomu had led the centre’s management team and very senior surgeons to inspect the equipment
Other new equipment acquired, include mobile digital x-ray and fluoroscopy machine
Head of the hospital’s public relations, Segun Orisajo, says the completion of oxygen plant, will solve the challenges of oxygen in the facility, while the new diagnostic machines will ease the problems of travelling long distances in search of diagnostic services
According to him, the oxygen plant which is now operational, has the capacity to produce 120 oxygen cylinders daily
