Flying Eagles: Alaba Dismisses Bribe Rumour

Bayern Munich left back and Austrian International, David Alaba has denied reports circulating the media that he was asked to bribe his way into Nigeria under-17 team by the coaches.

The news broke out few weeks back that the Bundesliga champions openly revealed that he left the camp of the Golden Eaglets in 2007 after the coach demanded bribe from him before he can be included in the team.

However, the Bavarian left back has now responded to the report and branded it a fake news.

Alaba was born in Vienna to a Nigerian father George Alaba and his mother Gina who’s from Philippines.

The 26-year-old holds the record for Bayern’s youngest player to feature in a competitive fixture, at 17 years, 7 months and 8 days old. At age 17 years, 8 months and 13 days, he made his UEFA Champions League debut against ACF Fiorentina on 9 March 2010.
