Flood kills 21 in Bauchi, Niger and Sokoto

Heavy rainfall in Bauchi state has left 16 people dead in massive flood that swept through several communities in the state.

A Deputy Director in the State Emergency Management Agency, Musa Ladan who made this known in Bauchi, said eight persons, including four children, were killed in the flood in Gulbuk community in the Giade Local Government area.

Other four persons, he added died in the massive flooding recorded in Galamakira and Galam Baba, while an elderly man died when his house collapsed in the flood.

Also in Niger state, the heavy rainfall in several communities has left four children dead, and hundreds of people displaced.

15 communities affected in the state are Gurara and Lapai Local Government areas.

In Sokoto state, a toddler was killed in the massive flooding of several communities after torrential rainfall in the past days.

The toddler was killed in Tudu village where more than 100 homes were destroyed in the flooding.
