The Presidency has released fund to Ogun state and four other states for the take-off of its home grown school free feeding programme in public primary schools.
Released to Ogun state for the implementation of the school feeding programme for 10 days is 119, 648, 900 naira.
The fund was paid directly into the bank account of 1,381 food vendors in the state, for the feeding of 170,927 pupils in primary one to three in the state’s public primary school system.
Vice President office’s spokesman, Laolu Akande who made this known in a statement, said the fund is part of N375.4 million released to food vendors in Oyo, Anambra, Osun and Ebonyi states for the take-off of the programme
Anambra state received N67.5 million to feed 96,489 pupils, Ebonyi (N115.2 million for 164,598 pupils), Oyo (N72.2 million for 103,209 pupils), and the remainder for food vendors in Osun state for feeding 142,193 pupils.
