FG releases blueprint to tackle food crisis

Presidency says it is aware of the food crisis in the country, particularly within families’ circles nationwide and it is addressing it.

Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, Chief Audu Ogbeh, stated this while addressing the state house correspondents after the meeting of the federal executive council presided over by President Buhari.

The minister said despite the shortage Nigeria is still in a better shape than another oil producer, Venezuela which can no longer feed its people.

Ogbeh who said the council has approved the agricultural promotion policy 2016-2020 to address the food crisis, promised that within one year or one and a half year Nigeria would be self-sufficient in grains like rice, beans and maize.
