FG Rejects Nigeria’s Corruption Rating

Federal government has rejected the rating of Nigeria in the 2020 Transparency International Corruption Perception Index

Information minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement on Sunday says the rating which is Nigeria’s worst since 2015, did not reflect the giant strides of Buhari administration’s Anti-Corruption campaign

According to the minister, the 2020 rating ignores the greater emphasis which Buhari placed on corruption preventive measures and building of integrity system

Mohammed says that the presidency is interrogating several issues and discrepancies observed in the rating process, including data sources in which Nigeria has remained flat in the past ten years
