*FG Monitors Re-Opened Land Borders

The presidency says it is monitoring the four land borders which were reopened last December 16

It warns that the reopened land borders at Maigatari, Illela, Mfum and Seme, may be shut down Again

Presidential spokesman, Garba Sheu, who gives this indication while speaking on a television programme, says that neighbouring countries are still not doing enough to stop the massive influx of bandits, illicit weapons and drugs into Nigeria

He explains that president Muhammadu Buhari delayed in ordering the re-opening of Nigeria’s land borders, because of the approaches of neighboring countries to the influx of bandits, illicit drugs and weapons into Nigeria Sheu says the situation is being studied before the remaining land borders will re-open on December 31
