Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved an upward review of the contract awarded for the reconstruction of the 81-kilometre Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta expressway.
The contract cost is now N56.7 billion, following its upward review by N22 billion.
Power, works and housing minister, Raji Fashola, announced the revised contract to the State House correspondents, at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The minister explained that the contract for the road which was awarded to Julius Berger in 2000 was abandoned due to financial problems.
Fashola said the contract cost was reviewed upward to mobilize the contractor back to site to complete the project. Please subscribe to our newsletter
