FEC approves eight New Private Universities

Federal Executive Council has approved the establishment of eight new private universities.

This brings the number of private universities in the country to 69.

Education minister of state, Anthony Nwuka announced the New Universities to the state house correspondents after the council’s meeting presided over by President Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja.

He named the New Private Universities as the anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos State; Arthur Javis Akpabuyo University, Calabar in Cross River State; Clifford University, Owerrinta, Abia State; Coal City University, Enugu, Enugu State and Crownhill University in Kwara State.

Others are Dominican University and Kola Daisi Univeristy, both in Ibadan, Oyo State and Legacy University, Okija in Anambra State.

The minister said each of the newly approved universities would be mentored by the federal universities in their respective states.
