Federal Capital Territory (FCT) authorities have ordered sex workers to leave Abuja within the next two weeks.
Coordinator of Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Umar Shuaib, issued the directive at a news conference in Abuja.
Before the expiration of the deadline, he explained that a sensitization campaign will be held in the city.
After the expiration of the two week deadline, Shuaib said police will undertake a night patrol to rid streets of the city of sex workers.
“The Council in collaboration with Social Development Secretariat (SDS) and security agencies, has embarked on sensitization campaign to last for two weeks after which we shall start night patrols to rid the streets of the menace of commercial sex workers,” he declared.
