Works, Power and Housing minister, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has drawn a battle line with the electricity distribution companies over their performances.
Fashola speaking at the opening ceremony of the 11th monthly stakeholders meeting in Lagos warned the distribution companies to step up their service delivery or quit.
On the issues on metering and billing system, the minister asked them to build the trust and confidence that customers’ complains will be addressed.
Fashola said that without the customers and the consumers, there would be no business, asking them to leave if they don’t have the skill and the patience to serve.
He asked them to do whatever is possible to improve the quality of service and continue to train their personnel to recognise that customer is king.
To the minister, if the companies cannot provide or solve the problems of consumers, they owe it a duty to explain what they are doing to address the challenges.
