Fake Ogun Health Officials arrested for alleged extortion

Two persons disguising as members of the monitoring team of the Ogun State Ministry of Health, have been arrested for extorting money from unsuspecting operators of private hospitals in the state.

Deputy Director of Hospital Services in the Ministry, Dr. Solomon Sokunbi, who made this known said the ministry had been investigating cases of some people reportedly defrauding operators of Private Health Facilities across the state.

Sokunbi said the two suspects had extorted their victims to the tune of N200, 000.

He said investigation by the police was on-going while the two suspects remained in police custody.

He said their arrest followed a tip-off by one of their victims in Lafenwa­-Itele in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State, who immediately called the attention of the police.
