Ex FBI director says no one around to check Trump impulsive behaviour

The former Director of the FBI, James Comey, has said that he doesn’t believe there is anyone around Donald Trump who can contain him.

In his only U.K broadcast interview, Mr Comey said no one around the president is able to “stop impulsive behaviour”.

He spoke as the detailed of his notes documenting his conversations with U.S President Donald Trump have been published.

The President and Mr Comey have been feuding for weeks.

Mr Trump has referred to Mr Comey as “slippery” and a “slimeball” and the “worst FBI director in history”.

He has also criticized Mr Comey’s new memoir, said the “badly reviewed book” raises “big questions”.

Mr Trump sacked Mr Comey last year while he was leading an FBI investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
