Fourteen out of 47 inmates, who escaped from the Ikot-Ekpene prison in Akwa Ibom State, have been recaptured by prison officials.
Four of the inmates died of gunshots while engaging prison officials in an attempt to escape, following the jail break.
The state prisons comptroller, Alex Oditta, confirmed the death of four of the inmates, who according to him, were among the fleeing inmates attempting to overpower the prison officials.
