Enyimba to play its home matches in Calabar

Enyimba Footbal Club Players

Enyimba will now play their home matches in the new season of the NPFL at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

The Enyimba International Stadium is under reconstruction and that was why they staged their home games in Umuahia and Port Harcourt this past season.

Enyimba will therefore welcome Sunshine Stars to Calabar on the opening day of the new season.

The club chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu, said they believe Calabar will be home away from Aba.

Anyansi Agwu pointed out that there was nothing special in being drawn to face Sunshine Stars in the season’s opener and that they would prepare for the Owena Whales the same way they will do to other clubs they will trade tackles with after the Akure Gunners.

Two-time African champions Enyimba finished last season without a major trophy.
