Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that most Governors are reluctant to spend massively on education.
He explained that Governors were spending very little on education because their results were not immediate and visible.
El Rufai, speaking to newsmen in Gombe during a visit to the Emir of Gombe, explained that investments in education was generational and their results might not be seen until after 20 years.
The Governor blamed the present day armed banditry, kidnapping and insurgency as the products of educational policies of 30 years ago.
According to him, over the years, the Nigeria elites had abandoned public schools and sent their children to private primaries, secondary and universities.
