Police have identified the eight children suffocated to death in an abandoned car on Sunday in Badagry.
One of the victims, according to the police was a grandchild of the owner of the abandoned car, a former staff of Lagos State University, who died years ago.
Others were children of operators of Bureau De Change who reside in the area.
Lagos state commissioner for Civil Service Commission, Suru Avoseh, said the abandoned car was forced open by the grand child of the late owner.
They then entered, shut the door of the car against themselves, and nobody knew until they suffocated to death.
Parents of the children buried them later on Sunday, amidst weeping.
