FRSC officers on duty

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said it is deploying over 1,000 of its personnel to major highways in Ogun State, to monitor and control traffic before and during the Eid El Fitr celebration.

The special patrol, involving regular and special marshals, kicks off on Wednesday, June 13, and will end on Monday, June 18.

The state FRSC sector command, Clement Oladele, in a statement by the command public education officer, Mrs Florence Okpe, says the special patrol covers Lagos-Ibadan, Abeokuta-Sagamu interchange, Sagamu-Ijebu ode, and Abeokuta-Lagos expressways.

The patrol, according to Oladele, will focus on excessive speed, dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, lane indiscipline, the usage of phone while driving, and seat belt violation by motorists.

They will also be on the lookout for expired tyres or substandard tyres.
