EFCC freezes three Benue State bank accounts

EFCC Custody

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen three of Benue State government’s bank accounts.

The Anti-Graft Agency is investigating alleged fraud in the security vote by Governor Samuel Ortom.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akaze, in a statement, said freezing of the account will affect the payment of pensions, salaries and others expenditure.

Accusing EFCC of witch-hunting, the state government said the investigation of security votes should not be restricted to Benue, but extended to the presidency and other 35 state governments.
