PDP Governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has protested against the new September 28 date for the Edo State Governorship poll.
Ize Iyamu speaking in Benin City, said the new date would prevent his supporters in the Edo South Senatorial District from voting on the new date, because they would be busy with the coronation ceremony of the new Oba of Benin.
PDP candidate, who claimed that Edo South Senatorial District as his strong political base, accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of not consulting all parties before shifting the poll from September 19.
INEC had been compelled to shift the poll after Police and Department of Security Service claimed they had intelligence that insurgents and extremists plan terror attacks on Monday and Tuesday this week.
