The crisis in Edo State APC is reaching a boiling point, as the State’s Executive Committee announces the suspension of the Party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole
The executive committee in a statement by its chairman and secretary, accuses Oshiomhole, who is the immediate past governor of the state, of masterminding the crisis in Edo State APC.
The committee says the decision was endorsed by all the APC chairmen in the state’s 18 local government areas, to prevent the State APC from suffering a situation that happened in Zamfara State during the 2015 polls.
The decision was however disputed by the APC state auditor and financial secretary, who claimed that their signatures were forged on the statement.
Some of the APC Local Government Chairmen also dissociated themselves from the suspension of Oshiomhole from the party.
The APC National Chairman and Governor Godwin Obaseki had been battling for the control of APC in the State in the past months.
