Department of Security Service (DSS) has said it has arrested a major gun runner linked with several criminal groups nationwide.
The suspect, Jonah Abey, according to DSS spokesman, Tony Opuiyo, has been on its wanted list for the past ten year, until his arrest at Wukari in Taraba State, along with his driver, Agyo Saviour.
The security agency alleges that he was supplying arms and ammunition to several criminal groups in Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Rivers, Imo, Anambra, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue and Taraba states.
The suspects, according to DSS, was sourcing the arms and ammunition from Cameroon and North East region, and distributed them through his driver, from Konduga in Borno State into Taraba State, and later to other parts of the country.
The agency also said its operatives in the past ten days also arrested members of major kidnapping, armed banditry syndicates in Plateau, Nasarawa and Taraba states.
