Drug Trafficker Caught With N1 Billion Cocaine

A suspected 36 year old drug trafficker has been caught with powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, valued at about N1 Billion in Sokoto State

The suspected trans border drug trafficker was arrested by operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (Ndlea) at Illela, while trying to cross Nigeria’s border into Niger republic

The state Ndlea commander, Bamidele Segun says the suspect whose destination is Algeria, gives his name as Nkem Timothy, but Auwalu Audu has an ECOWAS passport found on him

The commander says that he was intercepted while trying to cross into Niger republic on a motorcycle with a baggage

Segun explains that 62 wraps of suspected cocaine weighting 1.550 kilogrammes were found neatly concealed in yoghurt bottles

Meanwhile, a 26 year old Nigerian has been jailed ten years in the united Arab Emirate after 34 kilogramme of cocaine was found on him in Dubai

The was arrested in terminal 2 Dubai international airport after arriving in the emirate on a visitor visa on October 30 last year.

A customs inspector discovered the haul of drugs after carrying out a search of his luggage.

The customs officer says that his luggage, which consisted of three large plastic bags, and all contained drugs.”

According to him, inspectors found 14.4 kilogramme of Cannabis in one bag, 13.4 kilogrammes in another and 6.6 kilogrammes in the third. During questioning, the man denied knowing the nature of the substance he was carrying and that a Nigerian had asked him to deliver the bags to a man in Dubai
