DPR Mapping LPG Facilities In Ogun

Department of petroleum resources (DPR) says it has embarked on mapping of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling plants in Ogun State.

The Abeokuta office of DPR says it is worried over the proliferation of LPG refilling plants in parts of the state.

For instance, the operation controller of Abeokuta field office, Muinat Bello ZAGI says, the mapping exercise has so far reveal that about 70 per cent of the facilities in the Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area are illegal.

Bello Zagi speaking at the second annual general meeting of the Abeokuta field office says, the mapping exercise will enable the department to know the geographical spread, the concentration of the gas facilities.

It will also enable DPR to conduct proximity analysis, ensure safety and facilitate the future approval of the facilities.
