The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has taken up Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s challenge, and released the details of his six months salaries and allowances.
Dogara released his monthly salary pay slips for the months of October 2016 to March 2017.
The total pay monthly, according to the pay slip is N402, 530:37k, leaving N346, 577:87k after various deductions.
The breakdown of the monthly pay is N206, 425:83k as basic salary, N175, 146 as constituency allowance, and N20, 642:58k as recess allowance.
However, Dogara has N55,952.50 deducted from his salary as PAYE monthly and the sum of N70,000 termed APC deduction from his salary. The deductions leave the Speaker with N276,577.87 as total pay for the month.
The APC deduction, according to the payslips, commenced in February 2017, with the sum of N140,000 deducted from Dogara’s salary.
The Speaker is however silent on other controversial allowances.
Meanwhile, the House of Reps has accused Governor Nasir El-Rufai of misleading the public with the details of his security vote that he released on Sunday.
The House spokesman, Abdurazak Mandas, said what the governor made public was the security of the state government in the 2017 budget and not the security vote allocated to his office.
