Doctors Worried Over Rising Psychiatric Cases In Nigeria

Resident medical doctors say they are worried over a sharp rise in the psychiatric cases in the country
The doctors call for an urgent steps to address the issue, which they regard as a major national threat, fulling the rising cases of suicide
Chairman of the Abuja chapter of the national association of resident doctors, Doctor Roland Aigbovo, raises the issue at a news conference in Abuja
The issue, according to him, will be on the front burner of the 2019 annual week coming up soon
He says the trend is worsened by the non availability of drugs, mental health services at the primary health care level, as well as housing, counselling and support groups
