Diezani Forfeits N14.4bn Jewelries, Phone To FG

A Federal High Court, Abuja, has finally forfeited permanently the assets of a Former Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Allison Maduekwe, valued at $40 million or #14.4 billion, to the Federal Government.

The forfeited items are 2,149 pieces of expensive jewelry, including bangles, and rings, as well as earrings, bracelets, pendants, customized gold i-phone, as well as necklaces and wrist watches.

In a ruling on Tuesday, Justice Nicholas Nicholas Oweibo, held that Diezani, through her lawyer, Awa Kalu, failed to show cause why the items should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.

Last July 5, EFCC had secured an order of the court temporarily forfeiting the expensive jewellery to the Federal Government.
