The Presidency has abolished the dichotomy between holders of Bachelor Degrees and Higher National Diploma in some of the paramilitary agencies.
The agencies include Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Nigerian Prisons Service.
Secretary to the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Service Board, Al-Hassan Yakmut, says the decision was taken at the meetings of the board held on May 9 and 10.
Under the new arrangement, holders of HND Diploma will now be moved from the Inspectorate Cadre to the Superintendent Cadre.
He says that the board has set up a technical committee to work out the modality for implementing the decision, including the harmonization of ranks.
